Why Do You Collect Money In Skyrim?

[ Edited ]

I have one big problem with Skyrim, and its that there isn't enough useful items to buy with your money. Once i have all the houses, and an adequate weapon, then im stuck with lots of money that i just dont need.

What should i spend it all on? (and dont say followers, because i use sneak  ).

Pretty much same as any game you struggle to get the money/XP for the trophies then after you get more than you need.

Yeah it's great to start with as you really pay more attention to the game when your struggling to save for something big. You pay more attention to what you spend money on and what you carry in your inventory.  I find I'll search every corner for hidden treasure when I'm poor.  However when I've plenty of money my attention goes slightly.  I won't bother searching areas as I know it will have nothing I need or can't buy somewhere.  My battle strategies change I know I've plenty of potions in stock so I won't worry about getting hurt.  There should be some stupidly expensive thing like buy a town for a few million gold pieces.

I didn't get pocket money when I was a kid.

That's why I collect money in Skyrim

I do agree. Once you get to a certain level, all weapons traders sell the same old. And it's not as if you randomly encounter people on the road with some better than normal goods.

It seems, at that point, that the only possible reason to collect gold is to get the associated trophy (1m gold pieces).

Its the same with a lot of games. GTAs spring to mind.

You start off with nothing while you do jobs for money, then you end up with houses, businesses, and 100,000,000 credits and nothing to spend them on :smileyvery-happy:

I think they're designed to make you feel vulnerable in the earlier stages of the game, and rich and powerful in the later stages.
