Why Sony Why???

Has any of you guys ps3's just crashed on the XMB and you have to turn the power off?. It is really frustrating when I see that the hard disc may be corrupt come up when I reboot my ps3, anybody else have similiar issues with the ps3 like this? :smileyhappy:

Nope. never have the XMB crash Its the other software that fails to shut down.

Like....

Red button app from BBC sport. (first tripple beebs reset today)

Iplayer.

Play memories ( This crashed on face book uploader )

Video editor. ( Uploading to youtube.com)

Opposite for me software plays like a charm, then randomly the XMB will crash

Might be worth running safe mode and run options 3 and/or 4.

That stupid internet search option crashes the system almost every time i use is so gave up in the end

i was playing black ops online & just viewed someones profile using the xmb and it just wouldn't load, i couldn't go back to playing black ops it was just stuck... i had to restart my ps3 just to play again... sony please destroy the xmb and make a totally new & better menu that is suitable for a good gaming experience! you had a year headstart & xbox is doing better than u..

So whilst playing Black Op's your PS3 froze once !!.....seriously

 

And from this your conclusion with the Xbox is better based on one crash whilst in a P2P Ram heavy game....oh dear god

dont feed the troll...

 

as said earlier in this thread use the 'save mode' (recovery mode) and do step 3 and 4 once a month... that should keep your xmb healthy...

My XMBS never crashed .. well, from what I can remember!

My internet search option works fine ( although it loads so slowly! ).

...whereas mine has crashed twice this last week.

 

Once submitting a report for a scam message (heavy...) and once when I cancelled a trophy sync.
