I dont think I have seen a reply yet that addresses the question, This is a facual graph demonstrating that edge consistently score 360 exclusives higher and ps3 exclusives lower than the average of all other review publications

Its important because as a gamer reviewers arent that important, but play a part, but to people in the industry there are jobs at stake..

I think in this day and age, what with the interebs, blogging, twitting, youtube, etc; most people won't simply won't be swayed on the basis of one review in EDGE magazine. I think more likely they'll hop around a bunch of different sources, like watching clips on youtube, reading fellow gamers reviews and comments on this here OPC, amazon or wherever. This would probably be especially true in relation to multi-player components, which most magazine reviewers don't usually get access to.

So as a result, mag reviewers know that, with their ever-dwindling "influence"  on the buying public, in order to garner any interest in their opinion pieces (and thus generate sales) they're gonna have to try and take a different angle on a game and offer a slightly more critical review.. which funnily enough, rarely ever becomes truly critical.

As for your graph, really doesn't mean much without any suggestion of which games it was based upon.

I've read that article that existenz posted before and to be honest I thought it was pretty interesting. Edge are renowned for being harsh critics so you expect to see the majority of their review scores below the average set by a multitude of reviewers (who in my opinion are too quick to give average games big scores), but that article does show that Edge are signifcantly harsher on PS3 exclusives in comparison to 360 exclusives. It's not something that bothers me, but it does seem a little odd.

The problem with the graph is that it assumes they didn't think PS3 exclusives were just simply bad. As much as I prefer the PlayStation the exclusives this generation have been far from bulletproof.
