that could be true ytevo but then dice introduce rental servers even though bf3 has online pass, so that reply doesnt really stand as people without the online pass cant play on a rental server that somebody else has paid for. Simple answer greed.
The rent-a-server was what gamers wanted though and DICE listened. Yet they get slated for listening and giving gamers what they what ![]()
Its a sad old gaming world. lol
Remember though, they are a business out to make money and profits in a dog eat dog world at the end of the day. We've lost a lot of great studios from poor sales over the last few years. Developers cannot afford not to make healthy profits.
The pass is EA, the rent a server is DICE. Remember DICE operate similar to an independent studio even though EA own them. It was a contractual agreement they had. EA don't have full control over what they do unless its ''make Battlefield 4'' etc. Anything else DICE do what they want at their own costs if my memory serves me correctly.

They are trying to protect us from receiving used games through the post, only to find manky covers and torn instruction manuals with bits of old food and crusty bogies attached.
Sorry, I sneezed right after having a Donner Kebab just before I posted that copy of Everybody's Golf to you ![]()

You say that as if it is a bad thing.
Our whole economic system is built on 'greed' - not in a bad sense, but in the sense that everybody tries to get as much money as possible - that is why the system works.
EA is greedy, as is Nike, as is your local butcher etc...

I read an article the other day and one publisher claimed games would be significantly cheaper if they were locked to a console and the reason games cost as much as they do is down to the used market. If that path is taken in the future GAME will close down all together, it really will kill them.

Just like the UK government said the Galen to litre conversion of the fuel pumps would be fair

@ ytevo im sure we have lost a lot of gaming studios, but if they make glitchy flawed games and refuse to listen to their customers then thats their fault, if developers make great games they'll have great sales but to be honest many gamers wait for price reductions on games now as their usually patched by then if were lucky, i know i do as im not willing to pay full price for a sub standard gaming experience.on another note ive been waiting for fixes on payday the hiest for months and the games now worse than before,im sure that game developer will go down the pan too.

that was to copy over protected videos! the copy protection on vhs turned the copy into a poor quality version, flashing lighter and darker. mostly it was only on rental copies of vhs films though iirc
