the article says it all.
I think in the end they will lose out as puplishers will end up siding with sony, as this ruling is unfair and restrictive.
just shows that microsoft are in it for the money only. and no interest in the consumer.

As the previous poster said, all companies on the planet are "in it for the money" if they werent they wouldnt last very long.
Look at the PS3 for example, do you think Sony took the PS2 backwards compatability out for their customers? no they took it out because it increased profits, just like when they also too out the USB ports on the back of the PS3.
Dont let any friendly faced company deceive you, they are all after the all mighty dollar and all they care about is profit.

"Titles for Xbox 360 must ship at least simultaneously with other video game platform, and must have at least feature and content parity on-disc with the other video game platform versions in all regions where the title is available," it reads.
"If these conditions are not met, Microsoft reserves the right to not allow the content to be released on Xbox 360."
Uhm Eauuu K
And yet they want titles before PSN and Xbox only DLC ? " Hi Kettle Your Black " That is pretty inflexible of them, I hope a few devs do leave them.

I read that article this morning and still don't understand it
Multiplats set for both consoles must be made available on the 360 the same week as PS3, basically.
However, I don't follow the feature/content parity terms. For example, didn't Dead Space 2 ship with Extraction on PS3? Was it made available on XBL at launch or did MS turn the other cheek?
Or am I reading it wrong? Oh, hang on...scratch that - I've just realised I don't actually care ![]()

your way off.
1) Publishers want multiplatform gaming; exclusivity is an outdated concept and died when the big console war finally ended. Having access to both xbox and PS3 gives you access to your full target market and enables you to market specifically for the title rather than console.
Publishers are not being restricted and microsoft are indeed protecting themselves by insuring that their consumers are given every oportunity without having to buy into the competition.
Publishers are being "forced" towards the xbox with this policy but the PS3 they can treat as second class because sony don't care "are more relaxed" They can throw delay after delay at us or not even bother with the PS3. Why would they side with sony if there was no need to ?
If they could (and they often do) Publishers will sell you the same content on PS3, Xbox, Steam, Itunes, android . .
2) leading from above. Microsoft are protecting their gamers by forcing publishers to either provide equality or exclusivity. This is only a benefit to the gamer.
There are numerous complaints about "xbox ports" or "its already on steam / xbox" and thats because of this policy of microsofts. Xbox gamers are gettting a better deal.
