Same can be said about any of the big 3!

You sure about that? I don't remember Nintendo needing to buy any exclusivity or entering a market they have never been in before just to grab a share of the market. Only Sony & Microsoft have done the above.

^^ You sure about that? Lot's of companies expand into all kinds of markets. Virgin is a prime example: commercial airlines, finance, mobile phone network, even wedding dresses for a time. From October, Tesco, the Co-op and I think Halifax are going to be offering legal services.
If there's potential, and money to be made, they'll enter anything.

could have told u that from the original xbox 1. anyway they also wann destroy sony too.
yes they are all after the money, but sony at least take risks with new ip and many many many more exclusive games from there own world wide studios.
i hope sony never ever gets beaten by other competitions like for instance msoft and apple. if apple comes to the gaming industry in the future. it will be called iapple entertainment system.
i will always support sony console and handled. cant wait for the new psp2.
my wish for the future is that sony and nintendo join forces once again and make snes 2.

Let's see them remove AC:Brotherhood which has PSN exlusive content.
Or how this for a big one. Drop Battlefield 3. DICE have said the PS3 version will come with 1943 included on the disc. Lets see Microsoft drop BF3 for the 360.

Microsoft can hardly go threatening publishers that they will block their titles on 360 considering they hardly have any decent games coming out for it.

And none of those have anything to do with what we are discussing. If I listed all the companies that haven't done what Virgin have done & have still been successful, what point would that prove? And how exactly has all of this market expanding worked out for Virgin? Does the term "Jack of all Trades, Master of none" spring to mind?

MS was in the gaming market in the 1980's with the MSX
Nintendo bought the Resi games exclusive for the game cube
And how did the MSX work out for them? Also that was not a games console, that was a computer. The MSX was designed to create a single industry standard for home computers.
And I can find no information stating that Nintendo paid for the exclusivity of the Resident Evil franchise. It was exclusive to them, but I can't see them paying money for it. Especially as one of the most successful Resident Evils in RE4 was ported to the PS2 no less than 6 months after release on the Gamecube. Then to pretty much every other console & gaming device under the sun!
