I found my old Psone Metal Gear Solid today and i thought ill have ago on my PS3. I am using my Ps3 with a HDMI cable and i put it in made a PSone Memory Card and all it dose is goes onto a black screen. If i press the PS button it will come up quit game. Whats going on why wont my metal gear work on my ps3 the disc is scratched like but it works as it works on my Ps2.

On the PS3 compatibility site it says MGS still works, however, there have been reports that the latest firmware update (1.70) broke some supported games.

Seeing as it only has one star for compatibility that could be the problem. Have to wait until the firmware is updated so it can play it.

O well hope they make MGS2 playable on Ps3 as well.

Just popped mine in, seems to run fine played it for about 5mins. Looks really really bad though maybe down to the PS3's backwards compatability with PS1 games, maybe down to the fact its an old game or maybe its because I've been playing MGS: Twin Snakes on Gamecube/Wii but it did look terrible.

Great game though.

ohh and the number on mine is SLES-01370 and it was through HDMI on a Samsung R74

hmm.. i downloaded mgs1 from a friend of mine.. but everytime i try to play it it says something about video output... does anyone know how to fix this problem? send me a msg on my psn if you have any information please.. Nibiru_X thank you

nmber one i would really announce that ur downloading a game from your friends addy on the official sony forums as that is kinda silly ,,,

and also i think the psn version of mgs has been upscaled to it will work on a hd tv so that could be ur problem .. however it still looks like the game was made on paint .... still one of the best games made for the psone
