At this moment in time blu-Ray is not doing well and sony have made a massive gamble, maybe this time they will pull it off but ANYONE can see sonys track record when it comes to releasing new media and its far from good.
There are a lot of movies being released on each format and i'm sure i'll want movies from both and so will a lot of others, its just a shame we will probably need 2 pieces of hardware to watch our favourite movies in High Def.

Blue Ray is facing some terrible software and laser issues which is another reason.
True True, We'll see how it goes for the PlayStation 3 possibly on USA/JP release. Unless.... A huge Delay?

Xbox live is GREAT And hahaha you have to wait intill march for your crappy console *Sigh* I don't think the machine is crappy, I am interested in its hardware capabilities however looking at the price tag thats something I cannot afford. Also for me the console doesn't have the titles that I wish to own but if some games come out that attract my attention and if the price goes down I will get one. Yes Xbox Live is great but would be interesting to see what Sony can do with their online service. Xbox 360 rules? Emmm well for a next gen console I guess it does right now but not everyone has one because they are either happy with what they have, do not have the money or are waiting on the PS3.

The initial PS3's should have total PS2 backwards compatibility as they have included the PS2 chipset in the machine.
Howver soon it will be software emulation rather than the chipset which might not work as well.
