EU BLOG UPDATE - QUOTE

We wanted to take this opportunity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today.

There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion 19th April and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly yesterday evening.

For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more on frequently asked questions

Thank you for your continued patience and support.

.... they wanted to be sure how far the hackers went and wanted to investigate and look into there system to see what they have done. information i highly doubt has been leaked

Nice quote here,
"The UK's information commissioner, Christopher Graham, said that his organisation had already begun investigating the Sony hack.
He told BBC Radio 4's "You and Yours" programme, that it looked like "a very significant breach of data protection law".
The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has the power to impose fines of up to £500,000"

.... this wouldnt of happened? the actual service was hacked not peoples detials i believe i havent got sonys " shaft " in my mouth... im just giving another point of view

there is a difference between compromising peoples info by having a not so good secruity and getting hacked.... its not like they handed ur info over chill out

Re: Yes, your details HAVE been stolen - CONFIRMED

I don't think you quite understand whats being said here.

Their security. It sucked. It sucked so badly that they lost all our info.

It should be possible to secure information. I have not heard of my bank losing all its customers account info despite a huge online presence, so Sony just didn't do it right.

That is called negligence.

Its like lending your drunken mate your car to drive home from the pub, and when he crashes it saying its all his fault.
You don't lend your car to drunks, its not responsible.

If you look after 77million peoples information, you had better take care of it, Sony did not.

haha no secruity system is 100% protection, for example xbox live was hacked and people were able to get free points not as bad as the psn hack but they broke through secruity its not like sony have a rubbish secruity system on purpose there must of been a loop hole there always is.

Could it be!?!?!? Another person that understands exactly what i have been trying to say all along? Pyro, your last post is simple enough for everyone to understand. Sony + IT Security = Fail
