back up help

Hey everyone got small problem i need help with. I have a fat model 40gb ps3 with a 500gb hdd in it. Im trying to back my ps3 up onto my external hdd but it seams all of a sudden that my usb slots have stopped working. They don't even charge my headset up. Not tried controllers yet. So my question is is there another way i can back my ps3 up? Iv got a lot of game play that i don't want to loose. Including gt5 please help

Re: back up help

The only other way i can think of would be buying a new ps3 and doing the data transfer thingamebob.

You could try the hidden menu and choose option 3.
