Hey VoodooNiiNja
On the back of the controller there is a small pin hole reset button. If you put a pin or a match stick and hold it down for about 10 seconds it should reset the controller.
If this doesn't work, the controller does have a 12 month warranty in store with receipt.

Hey VoodooNiiNja,
Sorry to hear of your issues,
You say when you try to charge it, the red lights flash and then stop - do they then go static (single light or four lights) or off completely?
Have you tried using this controller as 1st and 2nd controller on your PS3 system?
To clarify, when you say you've tried resetting - the best way to reset, or recalibrate your PS3 controller:
Plug the controller into the PS3 via the USB mini B cable. Press in and hold the indented button you'll find on the back of the controller (to the right of the screw - you'll need a pin or paperclip).
The lights should turn off, and after a few seconds, release - then press the PS button to re-sync the controller.
If the above has been tried, I'd suggest taking the controller back to the store of purchase with valid receipt within 12 months. They may require a reference number to confirm you've called your local PlayStation Support Centre to confirm there is an issue with your controller.
