error code 80023102

does any body have any info tht could help me with a problem i am currently having involving error code 80023102? i am using a pre-paid visa gift card thing and i have already bought two items but once i tried buying 'Fubar 2' it said 'an error has occured (80023102)' and it won't let me add any funds to my wallet either from my computer or my ps3! when i try from my ps3 it says 'the funds could not be added to your wallet' and when i try from my pc it says 'the credit card information is not valid please check your entries carefully' i have looked over everything for the last 15 minutes and still dont know how i could fix it. and i still have money left on the card so its not a funds issue. any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Re: error code 80023102

This problem has been going strong for a long time (posts going back 2, 3 years). Sony gives no response and does not appear to be trying to solve it. People have suggested a variety of methods for trying to fix it, but nothing seems to work. Usually the problem goes away after anywhere from a day to 2 weeks. Buying a PSN card with money on it and the linking it to your wallet is one way to get around this RIDICULOUS problem, but even that only works some of the time. Long story short, you're screwed and Sony doesn't seem to care.

This is not me poking fun, by the way. I have been waiting to play Mass Effect 2 since it came out on 360. When I heard it was going to be a downloadable game, I bought a solid state drive and installed it in my PS3. Now it's out, I have the full 12 gig game trial downloaded, and I can't buy the full game because of a 3-year-old problem Sony doesn't even acknowledge exists.

You will just need to wait that your Credict card starts working againg. Or just buy those Psn cards.

Re: error code 80023102

This has been happening since the store came back up.

RabidWalker did say; "The error codes are related to the volume of traffic, you also may encounter the error 80023103 if attempting to add funds or check the download list.

Again, this will be related to the servers and we are working to ensure the servers capacity allows everyone to get on.

Rabid"

Re: error code 80023102

well if you het this error and have a belkin wireless router its probably the router i searched the net and this is the best solution i found.

Try setting a static ip address for the PS3:-

First you need to find a Windows wired or wireless device already connected to the network in order to find out the required settings

Windows XP
1. Click start --> (sometimes settings) --> Control Panel --> Network Connections
2. Double click on the active connection which will say connected underneath
3. Click Support
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Windows Vista
1. Click Start --> Control Panel --> Network and Sharing Center
2. Click on "View Status" to the right of your connection
4. Click Details
5. Now the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, Primary DNS and Alternate DNS which are displayed should be noted.

Set these values under "manual settings" in the PS3 but add 1 to the last number for the IP Address as this has to be unique on your network

This worked for me and it it works fine now.
