your wording don't make sense, but lets try this...

you play on the ps3 because the online is free. your ps3 broke down. you got more time to do other things now, like work. you have to buy a new ps3, then you cant afford to buy new game titles. also you have less game time because you have to work to pay of that ps3... (you think this is a funny situation) then you ask if you should buy a new ps3 or not?...

was that correct??...

NO, he means he can only play it when its free as in nobody else is playing it because his own console is broken.

It is a case of buy a new  console = work less / not buy new games  OR

                         not buy a new console = play less but buy upcoming games.

If I was you mate I wouldnt buy a new one.
