[ Edited ]

Dont even bother with 4OD or the ITV player now.

Always freezes up my ps3 - ITV player in particular.

Wasnt much of a problem before the latest firmware - But if you have to hard-reset the ps3 now (holding down the power button) ,on next startup it now checks the file system of the HDD.

Not worth the hassle now - Unless SONY decides to fix the browser.

Still not fixed it sucks now my ps3 says. I did not turn off propper and I may have damaged files on the hd. They should take it off untill they can do it properly or not at all

Re: Nope Just the break in stream when the adverts kick in.....

Your system failure is not "THE NORM" plenty of users run it with out problems.

The loss of advert funds will not be taken.

Some things to lower the load.

Turn Off 1080p/1080i on PS3, All footage is only SD there is no upscale only zoom from flash which leads to blocky artiffacts.

So point less, get the TV to upscale it.

Turn off HDMI HD audio upscale buy manualy selecting just the PCM and use only PCM 48kz audio only.

Disconnect all other PCs from the network and go hardwired the packet loss will be gone that causes freezing.

I dont have to disable it but your unstable unit may need it.

You are better off using 40D in the new PS3 browser than the tv section which is currently running on the older browser.

Open up 40D press the select button and save 40D to your browser bookmarks ( http://ps3.channel4.com/ ) then use the bookmark in the browser.

Voila no more freezing and programme and menu navigation is a lot smoother. Doesn't work for itvplayer that only works on the older browser in the tv section.

If your still having problems i strongly recommend a wired connection and maybe a rebuild database in safe mode.

Nice one Mont, that seems to be working a lot better for me. Kudos.
