All I know is that when I get in from work/not working its on constantly. I always have it doing something:

Games (obviously, and if you don't have 'Dead Space' yet shame on you!)

Playing my music

On these boards

folding

iplayer

Streaming films/photos/music from my PC

My new fave - copying HD films from my PC to my HDD

Downloading music

Surfing the net

Building my own levels in LBP

Using the PS Eye to chat with friends

All that added up makes on hell of a machine and I don't give a t****** about the 360/PS3 sales, I think its the best piece of kit I've ever owned.

10/10

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

Admittedly, it's taken me a lot of time to get used to it. Just lately though I've become very fond of the PS3 (now watch it go up in flames as it's a 60gb version eek!). I have owned a Nintendo Wii and the only thing I liked about that was the virtual console. I didn't really enjoy the Wii so much because I only had Wii Sports for it. I never invested in it the way I have done with the PS3. Having said that though, the PS3 has generally been one of the best consoles I've owned/played. I'd easily put it in my top 5.

The only thing that'd make it better for me personally would be a cool Sega license that let us play Dreamcast games on it, but that's not about to happen. Also some more of those 'arcade racers' like SCUD Race, Daytona USA, Final Lap etc...

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

Just aslong it doesn't break down on me.

10/10

Sony replaces Europe launch-day 60GB's, right?

I hope so, although, I'd hate to have to convert from 60GB to 80GB. (Besides, I've replaced the HDD with 300GB).

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

I rate it 4/10.

There re not as many games as I thought would be available at this time and the games which are available fall well short of the hype. The games are just not long and involving enough and developers constantly play it safe and cut corners.

Because PS3 is not the lead format we are also left with bad ports of games ages after they have been out on other formats.

Sony have hyped the PS3 and it's features too much so that anything they do on it cannot fail to disappoint.

This generation Sony have also fallen behind and then desperately tried to make up ground with firmware updates to keep customers quiet but then they cop out and leave the implementing of those features (screen captures, custom soundtracks, trophies) up to the devs to include, then they fail to pressure or force the devs to include them making it a pointless exercise to issue these updates. They also hype up flash in the pan features as the next big thing and then leave them unsupported to rot ie. six axis motion control, Playstation eye etc.

Add to all this the fact that as soon as PS3 looks like it will turn the corner eg LittleBigPlanet, Home etc Sony then go and make a complete mess of it taking the shine off of what should be console saving apps with the LBP user made levels deleting fiasco and the rushed and utter failure that Home has become etc and the crippling delays on almost everything doesn't help either.

Sony/SCEE have made the PS3 a failure in my opinion especially when amongst the mess PS3 is in they never communicate with customers or answer requests or question directly leaving customers in limbo is what they do best. In addition to all this they still treat their biggest region the E.U with what can only be described as complete and utter contempt.

Another thing which hasn't helped PS3 at all is the constant lies and backtracking fo example:

"No there won't be a price cut" - cue price cut

"Six axis motion control is incompatible with rumble" - cue Dualshock 3 release

"We don't think it makes sense to have more than one version of a console" - cue a 20,40 and 80gig version of PS3

"PS3 will be fully backwards compatible" - cue U.S and Japanese consoles are, E.U consoles initially have poor software emulation of backwards compatibility and future version have none at all.

PSN although "free" is complete garbage, Sony's selection of PS1 games is baffling in that they are releasing utter crap ones and they are vastly over priced at that.

The worst Playstation console yet which has given Sony absolutely nil chance of me buying a PS4 if they even make one, personally I think they will and should pull out of the console market after this debacle.

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

8/10 I'm happy with my purchase, it's a great console

but it seems like there are less classic games than there were with the ps2 and ps1, maybe thats just the heightend costs of game developing? Or maybe I'm being impatient, this winter has been good and plenty of interesting games have been announced, I don't know?!

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

An 8/10 when I bought it a year ago - mainly because of the lack of games (which I admittedly knew in advance, I was mainly buying it as a Blu-ray player and was sort of expecting to continue to use my 360 as my main game console, which very quickly changed however) - probably very close to a 10/10 now.

Re: how do you rate your ps3?

I was and still am very impressed with my PS3.

Still being blown away by amazing visuals of the racing games i own and think the power of the machine is finally allowing PC rivalling driving physics, infact i hardly use my PC to play games on now.

I even like the PS3 Store which allows me access to game downloads and small games that are great for filling in a spare 10mins.

I have'nt even really used the other media options the PS3 gives me as i am still loving the games side of the PS3 so it can only get better in my view and really looking forward to 2009 and beyond.
