iphone - PS3 connection. Is it possible?

ACTION - Connect iphone 3gs to slim PS3 vis USB

go to  Accessory Settings/Audio Device Settings\Input Device\iphone

So once connected the PS3 can see the iphone but no files can be read.

Does anyone know to get the two devices talking to each other?

..use one of those infinite amounts of applications on the Apple store, to set up a media-server? ahaha.

Re: iphone - PS3 connection. Is it possible?

I've googled it to death... also tried the Apple support forums and app store. Even youtube vids!

NOTHING!

So I thought maybe going down the jailbreak road would lead me to the answer - NOTHING!

Surly some smart chap has the answer?

Re: iphone - PS3 connection. Is it possible?

what are you trying to do? transfer files?

if so what you have explained in the OP is setting up a headset so there's no way in hell that'll work you need to go under music, video or photo and see if it shows up if it doesn't then as someone said get an app so you can use the iphone as a media server then use the ps3 to copy the files over the network.

if you are trying to use it as a headset, you can't

Re: iphone - PS3 connection. Is it possible?

This is a video of the actions taken

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbC2SV_Kcwo (it's not me in the vid btw)

I have a media server set up already - that's not my interest here.

What i'm trying to do is effectively turn my iphone into an external hard drive, so I can put videos/music on it from outside sources and then play them back on the PS3 via USB.

Currently i'm using an APP called file aid which allows u to put any file onto the iphone - that part is sorted.

The problem is getting the PS3 to read the info on the iphone!

Any one with a big brain who can help would be much appreciated!

Cheers

you can with the ipod if you have linux installed, however you can't install linux on the slim version.

Re: iphone - PS3 connection. Is it possible?

that's to use it as an AUDIO device to talk to people, it won't work as i said you need to go to music/photo/video and look for it should be 2/3 down from the top.

i think you need to plug it into a pc/mac, go to itunes and select disk management and turn it on:smileyhappy:
