I will definitely be using my credit card on the PSN when it returns.
While Sony night have thought their network was secure before, after this incident, to this scale, I would expect that Sony are now taking this extremely serious.
So much so, that I expect the PSN to return with a level of security that beats the majority of other companies that also hold my CC details.
(none hold mine at this moment in time, as I've cancelled my current card).
Many might think this fanboyish or naive, but I honesltly think that security will be paramount in the resurrected PSN, whenever we see it.
I will certainly feel more comfortable with SCEE having my CC details that an online retailer that I'm buying PSN cards from.

Was going to delete my card details but since it's possible that it's already out there fo all and sundry to exploit I don't see the point now so I think I'll be keeping it on for the time being. Can't be bothered to mess with PSN cards really.
Oh and no butt kissing please, I'm not that kinda guy ![]()
@The Orion. Do you really think that Sony would risk a repeat of this? It's going to cost them untold amounts of money as it is and it's harmed their rep pretty badly. I have every confidence that they'll do what is needed to ensure that our details are as safe as they can be.

They probably will but its going to be a nagging question, systems generally take a great amount of time to plan and get running. To rebuild a system in their estimated 2 weeks total just seems unlikely unless they were already planning this long before the breach (which raises questions as to whether Sony knew their security was ineffective) or whether they are rushing into it and could be looking at another fall.
I want to be proven my doubts are unfounded but when something serious like this happens its natural to begin questioning every decision they make pre and post incident.

It certainly is natural to question their decisions and I can understand why you're cautious. To a certain extent I'm just as cautious but I just feel that this was a situation Sony found themselves in that quickly spiralled out of control. Sure we're all now paying a huge price for their short sightedness but I do have every confidence that PSN will be a much more secure place as I believe that they would surely have learned their lessons. Just by bringing in an independent security firm shows that they're taking steps to ensure PSN is to be much more robust.
If this should happen again though, even if not to this degree, I'll be thinking twice about ever using PSN again. To happen once is unfortunate, and it has happened to many other companies, but to happen again would just be insulting and a serious misuse of our trust and will be fully deserving of our contempt.

No I wont, Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.
They are one of the few companies I trusted, and look where it got me, I wont trust them again.
As it stands, My card has never been misused, I'm careful with it.
So you lot can talk about what might happen me and you but probably never will happen, and ignore what has happened me and you until the cows come home, more fools you.
