port forwarding for Virgin Superhub

I can no longer download and install games from the psn. They appear to download ok but when it tries to install it says the data is corrupt.

I did tether my phone to the ps3 and downloaded a game fine that way but the Virgin Super Hub won't let me.

I have done some research and it is to do with port forwarding so does anyone know what to do and can you help please.

Thanks

Gordon

Re: port forwarding for Virgin Superhub

There are numerous problems with Virgin Media and PSN. Corrupt downloads, constantly getting signed out, slow speeds.

I've finally had enough and decided to ditch them.

As for port forwarding, log into your router click on advance and then port forwarding. Then enter the ports you want to forward.

Re: port forwarding for Virgin Superhub

nor do I but it is strange that the games download and install when connected to my phone but don't when I do it via virgin.

I rang tech support and they started talking about port forwarding which is a term I hadn't heard before.

rather than forward ports put your ps3 into dmz its a pain in the butt to find which ports to forward for games and ps3, everything can be found on portforward.com.

Never had a problem in the two years I have had the hub and I have downloaded 100's of stuff on 3 PS3's, 3 PSP's , 2 PS vita's

It is all on the back of the hub. But I doubt that is your problem

Below is a Signature

Sony are stabbing their loyal family customers in the back - We have 3 PS3s and 3 PSPs all on the same IP address and all registered with Sony. Why can't we use them at the same time anymore?

Demilitarized zone, it essentially opens all ports and gives the device 'full access' to that t'internet.

You need to create a fixed IP address on the PS3 and then apply it to the DMZ option on your router settings.

Edit : Guide here by some 'Musterbuster' bloke, looksee :
