Re: ps3 diy repair !!!???

[ Edited ]

How did this work out for you buying a blu ray drive off e-bay? I've heard alot of people say that drives are married to the motherboard, but alot of people say they swapped drives without changing the control board and had no problems. What do people think about this?

Re: ps3 diy repair !!!???

I fixed my blu ray drive with a replacement from ebay about 3 years ago, have not had any problems upto now all good, was fairly easy to replace.I did not replace the whole drive as it was easyer to just replace the laser. But as someone else mentioned make sure you have the correct drive, they are not all the same, good luck with the fix.
