look now, my 3rd 60 gb ps3 has stopped playing discs (BR, DVD , CD).

customer services, as we know are not always as good as we would like  sooooo......

do i      

1. try and fix myself  ( with ps3 repair and upgrade guide ) ?    

2. just pay the £90 odd  to get my beloved gaming again ?

well ventilated, use make up brush and mini vax to dust .. 20 pluss games, play tv  and my  fhd 1080p 

ps3 £ 425 pluss thye rest £££££££.......... screwed by sony.... priceless

I would be tempted to fix it myself, get a drive off off e-bay, but there was a thread last week were someone said that Gamestation took there broken 60g and replaced it for an 80g for the price of 2 ensurances...didn't quite get what they were talking about, but it's worth using the search button and finding out. Anyway sorry to hear about your troubles.

That someone was ME ! ! ! !

I phoned Gamestation and explained my 60gb console was dead, what offers did they do.

After a short pause they offered me a used 80GB console with 2 years warranty and accidental cover for £50.

No questions asked esp on here, PM me for any more info.

Just order blu ray drive of ebay myself, should be a doddle to fix myself.

60gb playstation 3 + £50 = 80GB Playstation 3 & 2 years warranty/accidental cover - no more costs

BC and card readers are no big deal if your looking forward to this gen not last gen (ps2)

iv just called game & gamestation but they no longer do this. i'd have defo done this if they did though..............

I changed the laser on my 80gb ps3, very easy job to do, load of guides over the internet.

Just make sure you buy the correct laser, probably best to remove the old one for reference, then buy the new one.
