please help i can play normal movies and music disks but when it comes to blueray or games they dont even register not even an icon to confirm a reading

sounds like the blu ray laser is failing. If it's still under waranty, have it fixed for free. If not, you'll have to pay to have it repaired. Same thing happened to me not too long ago.

I'm having similar issues myself, the PS3 won't recognize BluRay Movies, games work fine though oddly. Have tried all manner of fixes but no luck. Looks like the extended warranty I took after replacing my first console may pay off.
