Re: whats better widescreen or unscaled formats?

i have read sumwhere that unscaled is best for 1080p as its shows every pixel, where widescreen surely would stretch the screen? which would result in not every pixel being shown, is that right all just silly talk. im crazy and like everything to be spot on! lol

I'm not really sure what you mean by 'unscaled formats'. The best quality video your TV can display is a 1080p video so if you want to get the most out of it, watch something in 1080p on it.

Re: whats better widescreen or unscaled formats?

1080p is 1920x1080, your TV is 16:9 so there won't be any distortion. If you want to push it to its limits try googling the model number and something like 'optimum settings'.

Re: whats better widescreen or unscaled formats?

what i mean by formats is when you can change the screen format like widescreen or letterbox. my tv has an unscaled option underneath the widescreen option.

i will try google my model number thank you for advice on that

Re: whats better widescreen or unscaled formats?

The unscaled thing is for when it recieves sub-1080p signals.  I assume it normally upscales those pictures to fill the screen, but it'd lose a bit of clarity in doing so.

If you set it to unscaled, I suppose the image would sit in the middle of the screen with a black border around it? It'd be pixel perfect, but it'd look a bit weird.
