ylod

Hi, just got ylod on fat 60 gb ps3 , have been quoted £131 pounds by sony to get repaired. And have been told all my gamesaves will be lost. Are refurb ps3 reliable? Have thought about buying new ps3 slim,is there a way of transferring game saves from old ps3 to new ps3?

 thanks for any help.

Re: ylod

You will need your 60GB to stay on to do a transfer of save files. Put a hair dryer at the back of the PS3 leave it for 20 mins then let it cool down again. This should give you enough time to copy your game saves onto a USB pen or external HD and deactivate your account. If you have copy protected game saves you would need to buy your slim now and do a data trasnfer from PS3 to PS3

Re: ylod

Hi

Sorry to hear about your PS3, if do a search on these forums you will find all sorts of help incl,

Hairdryer - search this for info on getting your PS3 back up and running to get gamesaves backed up and disc out.

YLOD Fix - links to YouTube videos showing you how to fix the PS3 yourself with some thermal paste and a heat gun

Hope this helps.... sorry am at work so couldn't do the searches for you but there is stacks of info here :smileyhappy:
