Not had many problems with it had a few freezes but found a few ways to avoid them.
1. Let web pages fully load properly before moving on to something else.
2. Clear cache, cookies, history regularly but not while pages are loading.
3. Dont use playstation.com as your home page takes a while to load fully.
4. Use the default web search rather than using Google homepage.
All the above has worked for me not had a freeze since.
I've used pretty much the same methods as mont and not had any problems at all.

No problems my end still fine running on a wired connection i have found losing the XMB icons is usually caused by quitting the browser while pages and websites are still loading or during video playback.
Tips i would suggest is make sure the clock/busy icon in the top right hand corner isn't active when exiting the browser or when moving on to other websites.
It's definitely worth keeping the browsers memory clear by regularly deleting history, search history, cache and authentication information and occasionally cookies.
