I've been reading thru these forums for hours. Here's what I have. A 1.5 tb "free agent" formatted to fat32. Movies are in folder like I've read. My problem is. They arent all showing up. They are all under 4 gigs and used dvdfab to change them to a ps3 format. Some show up. The rest don't. I need help!!!

the PS3 will only recognize folders sorted in the same style as the root directory of the PS3.

if you can see the folders but not the files then select a folder then hit the triangle button and choose the option to "display all" and that should then display all the subfolders and files

Tried that, I have let's say 100 movies on the drive in the video folder, and only 58 show up. I've renamed the movies removed subfolders to where just the movie would be visible in the video folder. My next step is a hammer! Or to just start over.

The ps3 can only read up to 500GBs of a fat32 hard drive.  Also, what format are they in? If they're .avi or mpeg type video files, they should be read-able but if it's anything like .wmv, they won't be playable. The PS3's finicky like that.

if you have a lot of files/ movies on the external hard drive it will take a while for them all to show up, I've noticed this when my hard drives get on the full end.
I haven't had any problem with my PS3 picking up all the files on my 1TB hard drives either, it just takes a bit of time for it to read all the info

but I would have a quick check on a pc to make sure the files are the correct type
