Same problem here.

I have just bought a 160Go PS3 slim, and the BBC iPlayer keeps buffering, in HD or SD, sometimes for hours.

I have done a broadband test, and I consistantly get 6Mo/sec, which should be plenty.

We have reversed to watching it on the Wii, and it works fine... a bit pathetic for such an expensive piece of kit.

Any news on a possible fix?

Nope, if you can handle it lower the video quality to the bottom setting. Its a bit crap with fast moving video for generally ok. It seems to be something to do with excess traffic on the iPlayer servers rather than the application or your internet settings. When playing HD try to stick to watching outside of peak times (4pm - 12am GMT).

If your wireless its recommended to go wired even the old BBCiplayer help page recommends a wired connection or powerline homeplugs myself wired no issues at all.

The BBC iPlayer also keeps freezing/buffering for me too, it's really fustrating! I have a PS3 wired connection running at 6mbps (tested via speedtest.net) and have rebooted the system but it makes no difference. I know it must be an issue with the PS3 version of the iPlayer as I have tried using my Mac instead and it works fine. Why is this happening?
