No DTS-HD Master Audio Sound Through Reciever

I've connected my PS3 Slim to my Reciever via HDMI but I'm not getting the DTS HD Master audio though my amp. Does anybody have any ideas? (I'm playing Mama Mia though Sony STR-DG820, Sound track is DTS HD Master Audio and is supported by the amp)

In sound settings I've selected Automatic and see DTS HD Master Audio is listed.

Just in case, have you set the HDMI output to bitstream? Otherwise the PS3 is doing the decoding

I have the same amp (and a slightly more macho DTS HD Blu-ray :-) ) The amp decodes the DTS-HD audio and passes it out as Linear PCM, as it does for Dolby HD

The information in this article applies to the PHAT PS3 and not the slim.

The phat cannot output Master Audio over bitstream. It CAN decode it internally and output the decoded audio over linear pcm  (which is what the arcticle says)

However the slim can output master audio over bitstream and you can let your audio amp decode it if your amp has that features.

With the slim I can get my onkyo to show its receiving True HD (e.g Star Trek XI bluray) or Master Audio (terminator salvation bluray) by setting the slim to output audio in bitstream mode (which is contrary to the advice in the article of that link above..)

Phat can't bitstream, only Slim can, therefore only Slims can DTS-HD MA.
