Re: The Official PS3 3D TV Recommendations Thread

Parv-B,

It's difficult to say without having lots of experience, and most of us have only seen very few 3D TV's. But as a rule of thumb, get a 3D TV which is as large as you can afford, because - at least to me - the TV feels smaller while using the 3D feature.

Just to give you a heads up: You'll almost instinctively want to move closer to the TV when you're using 3D so get a bean bag too. :smileyhappy:

Re: The Official PS3 3D TV Recommendations Thread

Thanks for the advice. I don't understand what the rule of thumb is,  if you don't mind telling me about it. I wouldn't really be able to use a bean bag, because I'm putting the TV on the wall directly in front of my bed, and the space between the fron of the bed and the wall is really small.:smileyindifferent:

Thats why I  want to make sure I get a good size

nail on the head . as i use a bean bag LOL

parv my sofs is about the same distance away . but i just sit on a bean bag when using 3d . or a computer chair . you cant exactly lie down with the glasses on so it doesnt bother me sitting on chair . to be honest even with out the 3d i still sit on the office chair to play , as stuff like red deads radar map is to small to read . but if the tv is at the end of the bed i wouldnt worry about it

Re: The Official PS3 3D TV Recommendations Thread

After having a 2nd viewing at the 3D TV again, I've decided I'm not investing in one. I'm not really willing to pay more money for a bigger TV, because for a good 3D viewing in my room, I'd need a 50''. And this is  in a bedroom.:smileyindifferent:

I'm kinda upset that 3D really isn't for me, but then again, its not like you need everyth:smileyindifferent:ing

Parv-B,

Don't worry -- things will only improve from here on (bigger, better and cheaper). And when you eventually do get a 3D TV, there'll be many more titles out.

I guess, but I'm in my young teens, so I'm quite eager to get A tv in my room. I was supposed to get 1 in the Summer holidays, but I wasn't sure whether 3D was right for me or not. So although I know things will be getting cheaper and better, I'd rather get a TV in my room this year, instead of waiting longer for a better 3D TV:smileyindifferent:

The 3D effect (in my eyes) wasn't that amazing for me anyway, so I haven't really got any plans to buy a 3D anymore. But I'd like to than everyone in this thread for all the helpful advice anyway:smileyhappy:

If there is anyone else who wants a 3D TV, I am not saying 3D is generally terrible. Different people have different reactions, and personally for me, it wasn't a fulfilling experience. However, everyone else who owns a 3D TV has said that the effects are amazing. I'd urge you to go where-ever you can to test out a 3D TV before pouring out your cash, just so you know whether 3D is the right choice for you:smileyindifferent:

Re: The Official PS3 3D TV Recommendations Thread

I was looking at getting a 40" Samsung 3D tv for £800 but i've yet to see a 3D film let alone a 3D tv in action, i have got a Sony centre quite close so i will definitely go check out the effect before putting my hard earned cash down on one.
