Re: Free movie with videostore!

[ Edited ]

The films for the online services are overpriced whether renting or buying.

Just bought a whole load of Blu Ray movies this week and got far better deals than anything on this store or any other for that matter. Plus, I'm not stuck to keeping them on the PS3 when I want to play the film as I can use any other Blu Ray player I want too.

Too much greed on these download services and not enough access to other devices.

Think I'll stick to Blu ray discs, at least I get the full HD experience. As for SD content, what planet are these companies on when it comes to pricing. Most films can be had for £3.99 on DVD or less and wait a few months and the price drops dramatically on new DVD's that get released. I don't even use the online services from Virgin media or BT Vision because the prices are over the top.

With regards to the freebie, it would have been nice considering those that had the PS3 from Launch could have got a thank you(Yes, and Casino Royale was a good will jesture if you were quick enough to get one, which I did) for staying with them throughout everything they have put us through.

Not a good way to bring the service to long time Sony PS3 users.

A heads Up! Vid Store Promo..

I don't know if this will make any difference to anyone but as no one from Sony has made people aware of this it's worth mentioning.

Existing PSN accounts will get a freebie when buying the HD version Angels & Demons @ £11.99. That freebie is The Da Vinci Code (usually priced @ £6.99). Tempting....

Now, like me, you may have thought 'sweet' 2 HD movies for the price of one. Think again! The Da Vinci Code redeem voucher will only get you the SD version.

I was borderline on these movies anyway. Now, No Sale.

@ Sony, please don't rely on people reading the small print! Be honest if you want to avoid the backlash. :smileywink:

Re: A heads Up! Vid Store Promo..

And if the films you buy don't have full blown High Def sound, but instead you get stuck with 2 channel stereo for the downloads, I definitely wouldn't buy or rent any of them.

Have to be the full thing for me to even contemplate them, and even then, the price has to be reasonable, not rip off.

Just to put the common sense argument on this, if they put the full blown HD feature set of crisp 1080p with 5.1 or 7.1 support you do realise the filesizes would be insane for a movie download or rent service in the UK and EU right?

1080p 2.1 i'm happy with.
