I'm very impressed so far. A couple of issues however:

1. Not compatible with th official Remote Control - this would be very handy.

2. Long load time. It takes up to 2 minutes to get to the menu screen from start up.

3.As other have said true fullscreen would be nice and also the right aspect ratio - some of the videos are squashed.

4. Where are all the 'Genres' to choose from as stated by the OP? I can only find a few under 'recommended' menu.

Very good over all however.

Hey :smileyhappy:

Maybe have a answer to point 1.

You can use your Official Bluetooth Remote Control on VidZone by pressing the PS button, then go to the Settings tab on the XMB and go down to Accessory Settings then you want Reassign Controllers, change the controller number from 7 to number 1.

You can now use your remote with VidZone :smileyhappy:

I found you can't use the Play, Pause and Stop button etc. but it's still nice to be able to use the remote on VidZone!

Hope that helps :smileyhappy:

[ Edited ]

looks very good (considering it is free!)

minor gripe from me unless someone can correct me on it.

when i search alphabetically and i click on an artist i.e go to A click amy winehouse, after searching her songs i click back and it takes me all the way back to the start of A again so i have to scrool (very slowly) all the way down again to where i was.

is this a problem for others?

and 1 major ommision from the playlist, there is loads of bon jovi but no livin' on a prayer!!!!  noooooooooooooooooooo.

Re: VidZone!

PainYbOi or any one.
How big is the HDD buffer size for your playlist files. I must have missed it in the small print.
The music tracks are an average of 10MB per MIn if its 1GB buffer then it will store about 102 mins worth of video (estimate) and will download that much with out asking if the play list is long enough.

Sony workers seem really keen on hiphop lol

But I for one love all kind of music, and i think this is an amazing thing, and great music choice to those who chose them :smileywink:

Re: VidZone!

Just for anyone who was curious about uncensored videos unfortunately they won't be added for us 18+ peeps as its a 16+ service just thought you'd like to know. :smileyhappy:

Re: VidZone!

I've had a proper play with Vidzone now and can't believe how bad the Search system is. It's SOOO slow and not at all intuitive. Why do they release stuff like this AFTER beta testing. I can't be bothered to wait 30 seconds for the search results to show everytime. There are nowhere near enough search parameters either. Outside of the 'Featured' playlists, it's torture to find videos you are interested in and add them to your own playlist.

I would like to see a 'Random' option so that you just get random videos playing. Even better would be to watch random videos from a certain genre.

IT seems that the entire Vidzone player and system is web-based and maybe that is why it takes for ever to load up (is it the same for everyone else?) and forever to search. Why is it that everything web-based on the PS3 is so slow anyway? Internet is like a snail on my PS3 compared to my normal PC and laptop.

If they could speed the whole thing up then this would be a killer application but as it stands it feels like an early Beta version. If they could change it so that the whole program installed on the PS3 with the lists downloading quicker maybe that would help but I'm just guessing as to how Vidzone works.

I really like the idea - it's just that it's all too slow to do anything. The actual video playback is instantaneous and that's impressive and the quality is fine. I just want the search to be fast and more ways of finding videos I would like to see.

I know it's free but it's paid for by advertising so if they don't get it right people won't use it and their revenue will dry up.

Anyone else feel the same or am I expectin oo much from Sony who often don't get it right first time when it comes to the PS3.

Re: VidZone!

Whenever I attempt to access the service via Remote Play, I get an error code: "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting." (80028F10)

Ideas/solutions?
