how many ps3s can be active for video.

just wondering if theres different rules for active systems regards video store.. or is it video unlimited (?).. anyway when on the register device webpage i noticed it said active ps3s 1..limit reached or something similar.. so is it just one active ps3 for video, or do i have a un-deregistered (video) ps3 out there ?.. just in case it matters i also have a vita, xperia phone and braviatv registered for video playback.. But it never had a message by those saying 'limit reached' or whatever the actual wording was... so i found it a little strange that the video store restricts playback to one ps3... but not other devices, confused.

The Movie and TV studios LIMIT the PSN ID to only 1 active PS3 HD console and films and TV content  are only active on the console they are Downloaded on.... M.A.C address, Motherboard ID, temporary HDD coding and PSN ID, Are all recorded in the DRM and you can only transfer the SD file to portable players by Sony as well as the DRM is Sony specific.

Bravia TV does not have a HDD does it, it can only stream from Movies unlimited (aka PSN store servers,) No downloading, no DRM stored in files... and if your internet goes down you can't play the files. If I remember correctly. (PS3 downloads all of them for watching later.)

If you go to the device registered page and you only see No PS3 listed then You have likely hit the limit for max devices allowed to access Movies unlimited and will need to Delete 1 of the activations from the device them selves. If you have Two PS3 active then. You will have to phone CS to get the first one deactivated before the next can be added...

PS How many Mobile phones do You go through then to have a second xperia phone registered because the service is new to mobiles your first phone should not have been linked.

Only on my second mobile phone in 7 years.

Re: how many PS3's can be active for video.

thanks for reply.. i actually visited the device page earlier today, and yes after properly reading everything it clearly states 1 ps3 only allowed.. bit of a pain actually, as i just got new ps3, deactivated game/video on old one but when i tried to activate video on new one it kept telling me i still had a active one, please deactivate from xmb etc... tried numerous times but with no luck... So visited device page.. found only (remote) way to deactivate video on old one was to use the 6 monthly limit, deactivate all... But this never worked either. So have to phone customer-service now... Also, i kinda understand the download video reason for one ps3, but can you not download to vita or phone as well ?... as it doesn't 'seem' to restrict those to one system.. and my xperia (phone), first time i have used it for video unlimited. i usually change phones once a year. but i only have the one (atm) thats capable of using the vid service... i reread my post But still can't see what i wrote to make you think that i had more than one, Not a problem by any means.. anyway tnx again for info and reply.

The only way you can duplicate the PS3 situation is if you have 2 active Sony phones with Movie content on, This is why I was asking how many phones you have been through.

The web site has never been able to deactivate the Movies and TV section of PSN store it only deactivates Movies unlimted services devices, the PSN store servers powers Movies unlimited streaming but the PS3 remains seperate.

If you ever have a PS3 Die with your Movie account active you have allways been required to ring CS. This is because they have to explain that you only get 1 more free Download of the content you payed for. If you kill the Next PS3. They will not be able to allow free download again of the content that had been on the first console. ( Movie studios wont allow it )

Nothing changed there, the site was only set up for PS3 Game content. because the T&C for games changed.

Re: how many PS3's can be active for video.

Oh, i get what you meant now, also it does say on device webpage the ps3 must be deactivated for video either on it (xmb) or cust-services... But reading the faq's there actually was a direction saying if you basically choose the account section, then some other part, media i think, do the deactivate in the ps3 box, think theres three others, then it actually Will deactivate everthing, including video... so basically there own webpage told me to do this futile task.. so if i was to need that again i would need to wait 6 months.. i just don't know why the video wouldn't deactivate through using account on xmb, the game did it successfully, But i traded that in today so will Have to phone. just hope the bad stories i often hear about cust-srvs are greatly exaggerated. i keep meaning to ask you about your upgrade to 30mb, when did you get it as i am assuming its c/o virgin, but didn't know it had started yet... very good of them But if they'd only be a tad more sky-like regards truly unlimited downloads.. ie i keep getting my speed throtled after a certain amount, about 4GB or a game/demo..even After peak times... still i wouldn't change..(atm).

Re: how many PS3's can be active for video.

Sub topic.

VM will upgrade 10Mb/s user to 30Mb/s for free.

( free install, free activation, free bloke to install the free super hub, free removal of old modem = totaly free)

But you are required to phone VM CS for free via dialing "150" on VM phone line to book the time slot.

As you need to replace the current Cable modem with the Modem mode enabled super hub set up.
