"Demand Five" (UK Television's Channel 5 Catch-up service)

With BBCs iPlayer having an 'app/link' on the xmb under 'TV', will we soon see Channel 5's "Demand Five" service too?

The video format used by Five seems already compatible with the PS3. Check it out here;

It would appear it just needs a ps3 dedicated page.

I think with some fine tuning that app will be ok for ps3 .:smileyhappy:

Absoltely ages till 2012. As thats all people with out digital still watch. People with digital wont be watching FIVE...they will be watching five US or fiver. Adverts don't bring in as much funding as a Forced TAX and Product placements do for the BBC...

Give people the choice not to pay for BBC and not watch it, it would be as bad of as ITVs funding is.

While I generally agree with your point about the BBC's 'taxation', I wanted to point out that the BBC and in fact no British broadcaster receives any funds directly from product placement. I personally believe there is a serious case for allowing selected product placement (with proper regulation) but at the moment it is not allowed in the UK. What's ridiculous is that we view loads of US TV and films that have product placement in anyway!

Back to the point of the thread, I should think it is possible to get links to all the major on-demand TV services on the XMB eventually. If/when Sony will get round to this is another question!

I believe we are getting the much anticipated paid for on-demand films and TV programmes in October - it will be interesting to see if SCEE tie any of the free-to-air on-demand services in with this.
