sony wifi headphones...WOW!!!!

Holy Monkees!! , i just tried out my new Playstation wireless headphones , wow!!.. what a piece of kit for £80.00.

The sound quality is fantastic and being able to hear people properly in a squad in bf3 is lovely.

The virtual 7.1 is hardly home cinema in your ears but does a good job of artificial "wrap around" sound.

The only problem is it makes me look like some kind of space man while wearing them which my wife delights in!! (BY TAKING THE P!SS)!!

If your thinking about it.....DO IT!! , you won't regret it.

Cheers and happy xmas everyone.

Re: sony wifi headphones...WOW!!!!

I agree, there are better headphones out there but for pure ease of use these are perfect.

I think these are the cheapest fully wireless headphones you can buy, and the sound quality is a lot better then I thought it would be.

If you want a 'cheap' wireless headset, look no further, these are perfect. But if you want top of the line sound quality, then look elsewhere.

No there not.

Counter view advert.

Gioteck wireless virtual 5.1 headset

  •  Gioteck released their wireless virtual 5.1 but voice comes out both speakers making it virtual 7.1 just like SCE, headset is even cheaper online than Sonys.

  • It can be connected to Any RCA/phono connection, So you can use them for watching normal TV as well. They have a 5.1 filter on broadcasting RF box.

  • The headset was designed to Out price TB and Sonys specificly
  • They are released in UK with out having to use third party importers.

Now the negatives of the Giotech virtual 5.1

  • Gioteck brand.
  • Gioteck brand (yep twice because thats all people actualy see )
  • Lots of wires round the back of broadcast unit.
  • Instructions suck. There are no extra conections choices demo'ed. If you want a different set up you Have to know what your doing.
  • No XMB intergation.

Firstly how much are they?

Secondly the Sony headset is avaiable from online retailers in the UK. Shopto, Game, Play, etc.

Shopto and Play are using third party importers not a Sony EU distibutor.

Play.com seller is a marketplace seller they have to remove the headset page every time the third party runs out of imported headsets as he wont be able to fore fill orders.

Amazon.co.uk is the same, Amazon Eu sites germany and France have pulled there web page for the EU version.

Giotech headset ranges from £51-£81 from gamestation to amazon.co.uk its a popular item to do deals on at the moment

Re: sony wifi headphones...WOW!!!!

Because most of the Bluetooth channels are used up on the Dualshock and other add-ons. they are amazing headphones, although recently my volume slider isn't smooth when sliding any more

Blue tooth also sucks at Range. The headset is not just for Chat. It has to Work with music player of PS3 as well as Music unlimited thats why you can hide the MIC not just when watching films

Be rubbish it you go in the Kicten and the music stops. RF goes through walls better.  Same as wifi but thats why if you get very unlucky with Wifi and Cordless phones from less well made brands could give you RF noise.

I've been very long distances with Other RF headsets before signal breaks from source kick in. At that point the RF is blocked by your Skull or body when you move about.

I found that when there is no music or game audio you do get a faint slight white noise hiss , this is only a slight annoyance and becomes obsolete when sound kicks in. Its a lot better than my 2 year old wireless speaker kit ,so the tech is defo getting better.

Now...about the build quality...this is a big talking point and everything has been built to a cost so the whole design looks great but is quite flimsy , so whatever you do ,don't sit on them or put excess pressure on them or breath on them too hard or even gaze at them for more than 10 minutes otherwise they might break ...:-).... i presume you get my point. Saying that , its still a fantastic piece of kit.
