If you have an earlier model of console released after the CECHC0X model. These include the CECHG0X, CECHH0X, CECHM0X, CECHK0X, CECHL0X and CECHP0X.

Ensure the PS3 is switched off

Whilst holding the eject button on the front of the PS3, turn on the console using the main power switch at the back of the unit. The disk will be ejected from the unit.

Please note:

-As the disk ejects, the fan will begin to operate at maximum capacity. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern.

-The disk will not eject if there is no power, or if there is a mechanical drive problem.

Please note that the Slim models require a different method of disk removal

Slim Model console:

If you press the eject button and a disc will not eject from your CECH-200XA, CECH-200XB, CECH-210XA, CECH-210XB, CECH-250XA and CECH250XB model PlayStation 3, you may attempt to

manually remove it yourself.

Manually removing a disc

Make sure you have a small cross head screwdriver with an end which is at least 1 inch long.

  1. Turn off the PlayStation 3 and unplug the AC power cord from the wall.
  2. Turn the system over and open the screw cover

 3.   Completely remove the screw cover from the system by carefully pulling the cover straight up away from the system.

 4.   Insert a small Phillips-head screwdriver into the hole that the screw cover was inserted.  Not the hole that has the blue screw.  You may need to push through a paper dust cover located just below the surface of the case.  This will not void your warranty.

 5.  Once fully inserted, rotate the screwdriver counterclockwise to eject the disc.

6.  The disc will eject from the disc slot on the front of the system.  Rotate the eject mechanism until the disc is fully ejected.  It may take several turns before the disc appears from the disc slot.Pic4.jpg
