Accessories

I have a wireless earpiece and a wireless headset for my PS3 both of them are official Sony products. However I've always wondered why whenever I go onto the accessory settings to adjust my mic volume the only one I am able to select is '3'? Why is 1, 2, 4 & 5 greyed out? is it because they're optimised for that specific volume level or something?

Re: Accessories

The Mic settings are designed for calibrating other manufacturers devices. So you're right :smileywink: They stay at 3 because they've already been set up and you can manage the incoming volume using the controls on the device. :smileyhappy:

Re: Accessories

I did some snooping around on the internet and noticed that it's actually a firmware lock for the official products.

However I am faced with yet another problem and it's with the bluetooth earpiece 2.0: I am heard quite loudly to other people so the mic is fine, but the speaker is so low it sounds like people are whispering when they are shouting (even when the speaker volume is max). I tested this out on a mobile phone to see if it was the earpiece, but it works perfectly and sounds crisp. Is this something to do with my PS3?

Re: Accessories

It may be my friends mic as they're from different manufacturers...

Re: Accessories

if you want some quality chat then get your bad self the sony 5.1 wireless headphones , its got a little mic and evything!!

It actually changed my gaming life , for fps's like call of duty etc it dont half make a differance , not just for chatting but for hearing lil' footsteps and things round the corner!

best £80.00 i have ever spent ,apart from my wife's engagement's ring of course lol :-)

Re: Accessories

I have those 7.1 virutal surround sound sony headphones already, but I don't want to use them during the day, because I just wanna leave that to the earpiece.

I've also found out that it's actually the game's servers causing the mics to be so quiet.
