PlayStation®3 Technical Help

It only started recently. It started off freezing every 30-40min while playing multiplayer. Once that started i looked online for a solution(which i found on this website) and saw  that i should deleted the Gamedata in the XMB(not the saved data). So i did as directed, re-installed all the game/patches and my DLC. Now its worse, thanks for that advice >_>. It will freeze immediately upon joining a multiplayer match. Please Help fix this

No just my BF3. I managed to play through an enitre match now but i can no longer view the end game awards and such as it now freezes there everytime without fail. My disk is never taken out of my PS3 so i know it didnt get scratched or anything of the such.

Check the disk for scratches anyway. There's a chance someone else knocked it or bumped the PS3 causing it to take a scratch or two.

 Also, you may want to try a rebuild of the system database using Safe mode. You can find out how to do that here.

What will rebuilding my PS3 exactly do, will i lose all my data or something? and i did check the disk and it looks like i just bought it

Rebuild Database is like a disk defragmenter, so it should find and fix any errors and speed up the PS3 a bit too.

Okay, as long as i dont have to reinstall all my ***** again thats fine. I'll do that, try a game or two and post the results on this thread

Well it worked perfectly fine for one game then the next it froze at the end during the awards/stats stuff...sigh

Also, idk if this has anything to do with my problem, but when i try to turn off my PS3, via holding down ps button and selecting turn off ps3, it attempts to shut down but then reboots saying there is an Automatic update in progress. So i checked to see if my PS3 was Up-to-date and it said i was, so im not sure exactly wat is being updated...possible problem? I do know that with Plus it does auto updates in stuff but idk how to tell whats updating
