It is obvious that the Elite premium membership is not available for purchase in certain countries' PSN stores:
Availability: Not available in Croatia, Greece, India, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine and UAE
However, customers were never informed about this limitation prior to pre-ordering and buying the Hardened Edition. Most pre-orders were charged and dispatched on November 7 or before. Two or more days before the PSN Store content update of November 9th was announced.
I'm sure that there are hundreds, most probably thousands, of customers from the above countries, who have already bought the Elite premium membership through the Hardened Edition. However they are not permitted to activate / use it.
All voucher codes are Region specific. Based on this, and on the fact that we all have bought Region 2, BLES01428 disks, we should be allowed to redeem our codes.
We were never told that voucher codes are Country specific and due to the fact that this particular product (Elite premium) is missing from our PSN stores, we are currently not able to redeem what we have bought.
My understanding is that each country's PSN Store has its own database. That is why we cannot redeem something that does not exist as an available item (product) in the database.
I believe that Sony is able to come up with a workaround for all these customers who have already bought the product (Elite premium) but are not able to use it.
