Can't connect Component Cable.

Trying to connect my PC monitor to my PS3.
The hold down power button thingy works with composite ( red, white & yellow )
but not with component ( blue, green, red, R/W ).
I've had it working in the past & had this problem before.

I have no idea how I got around it but I remember it took easily 2 hours of trial & error.
All cables are official & I know they work. Nothing wrong with monitor.
Tried all the obvious.

Cheers.

Re: Can't connect Component Cable.

have u tried this....press on buttion and hold till it shuts down. and turn on and wait for 1 bleep and let go and it should reset the ps3 to composite. then go to settings and then find the tv settings on ps3 and go to ure console to tv setup. and should be ok from there.

Re: Can't connect Component Cable.

Hi Cardiff1,

You can try setting the video output using the composite (red, white & yellow) then quickly change the cable to component (blue, green, red, R/W).

There are also some useful suggestions in this guide

If your still having problems after trying the above then please let us know.

Re: Can't connect Component Cable.

Fixed.
Did the picture reset connected to component dvd then selected 1080i & moved the cables over to the HDTV inputs.
Running component at 1080i on a 23" monitor looks 10X better than HDMI 1080p on a 42" TV.
Must have something to do with the amount of lines on the screen.
Had a few LAN parties using it & everyone agrees.
