Connecting online

Hi,

I have recently moved house and our sky wireless router is at the back of the house. When my ps3 is next to it 100% signal and no problems.

I want to move it to the front of the house and leave the wireless router where it is.  my signal now fluctuates between 40 and 60% and will not let me connect online.

Right next to the ps3 in the front is a phone socket. Can i connect straight into this? What do I need? IS it just a microfilter and ethernet cable or do I need some sort of modem?

Any advice asap would be brilliant. thanks

Re: Connecting online

Unfortunately the PS3, as with all networking enabled devices, needs to connect to the router. You may be able to use Homeplugs (google) to get round your problem. A wireless repeater might also extend the signal but would likely be too slow for gaming.

Your options are to either buy a set of homeplugs, and use them to use the houses plugs as ethernet cables, or to move the router closer to the PS3. You might be able to plug it into the phone socket next to the PS3.

Re: Connecting online

You can only connect to a router.
