Connecting your PS3 to PC speakers

[ Edited ]

1. Not sure what country you're from, but in the UK you can get most cables like this in a store called Maplin. So yes if you have store like that.

2. The reason you needed that adaptor is because both the PS3 lead and the lead that converts phono-to-3.5mm jack have 'Male' phono plugs. This adaptor allows the two sets of 'Male' plugs to connect together.

I'm not sure if the following will work, but off the top of my head I would try this -

In the settings of the PS3 go to "Sound Settings" you will need to turn on "Audio Multi-Output".

Use HDMI output for the video, then also using the lead that came with the PS3 (or a PS2 lead) for the audio -

Then you need to convert the red and white phono plugs to a 3.5mm jack socket.

and one of these - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phono-3-5mm-Female-Audio-Cable/dp/B003WQ11I4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF...

Hi again!

I've visited 3 different  shops and i found this one;

IMAG0087.jpg

I know i only need two holes, but they only had this one :smileywink:

The other one... this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Phono-3-5mm-Female-Audio-Cable/dp/B003WQ11I4/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF...

is apparently rare, so ill check if i can find it on the internet from a danish site (im danish :smileytongue:), or else i have to drive to another city :smileyhappy:

EDIT:

Okay i found these two:

http://www.av-cables.dk/div_kabler_bokse_stik/av_adapter/adapter/jack_adaptere/jack_stereo_hun_2_x_p...

http://www.av-cables.dk/lydkabler/phono_kabel/phono_adap_kabel/35mm_minijack_hun_2_x_rca_phono_han_1...

Do they both fit? :smileywink:

Because i got unsure if the adapter i found is mini jack...

Not sure why only half of this thread got moved to the "PlayStation®3 Technical Solutions" board ( http://community.eu.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-3-Technical/Re-PS3-sound-in-pc-speakers/m-p/15081... ), but think the above info should also go in it too.

Also wanted to add that me and ScooterBent finshed this thread over PM, and it all worked out fine and worked.

I have to say that is a brilliant diagram Chaos, its pretty tricky demonstrating the connection for this but you nailed it, nice one!
