Controllers not working

Hi we have just got our ps3 out after not using it for over a year and after charging the controllers for over 24 hours  they are still not working. My husband went and got 2 new ones and again we charged them for the required time. They work perfectly when connected with the cable but as soon as we disconnect they are dead,,,,Any ideas ?

Try pressing the reset pins on the rear of each one and then pairing via the USB on the front again. That may resolve the problem for you.
