PlayStation®3 Technical Help

I got Modnation Racers today and it asks to be updated to 1.11. I download the update and then it automatically installs but finishes with "An error occurred during the install operation" 80029564.

After the error I deleted the download and tried again with no luck, I also restarted the PS3 and reset my router but I still get the install error. I still have 107GB free on my HDD

Do you have any problems downloading other digital games?

None. This is the disc version of the game. Just this second I downloaded the Ghost Recon beta update with no problems

Have you tried any of the PS3 safe mode options? It may be worth trying "Restore file system" and/or "Rebuild database"

Agreed, though I'd recommend trying "Rebuild Database" first. Then "Restore File System". You can find out how to get into Safe Mode by using this guide

Tried both and I still get the error at 14% installed.

Try deleting your game Data and reinstalling the game, then the update. That might sort it

When it first few times it happened I didn't have the game installed as it wouldn't let me without updating. I delete the game data each time.

You could look into the wives tales of deleting cookies and cache in the browser but I doubt they'll help.

After a few goes I did try that and I installed the game but still nothing :/
