Apparently, temporarily setting your primary and secondary DNS to 8.8.8.8. resolves it, though makes it take longer to download.

Just a heads up. The update is now installed, seems like PS+ auto updating did it with no problem so I can now play the game however I am not sure why I couldn't do it myself

Trying it now, gone from a 20 min download to a 45 though lol

Hmm. Not having much luck, are you? It might pay to try Open DNS. I can't remember how to set that up though. In theory it might work if a DNS change fixed it for others

Downloading isn't the problem though it is the installing.

Here's another, possibly stupid idea then. Set the download up normally without DNS. Then set the PS+ download for 9PM GMT so that it starts in the next 5mins. Maybe then it'll download and install
