Re: Extremely slow Internet connection.

Hey,just follow some tips to make your speed up -->Configure your browser so it won't display graphics, animations, sound, video or other multimedia content (see "How to Turn Off Sounds, Pictures or Video on Web Pages"). -->Surf when Internet traffic is low. Heaviest traffic is usually on weekends and evenings. -->Use your cache effectively. "Cache" refers to storage space where your recently visited Web sites are saved. You may need to resize your cache allotment, or you may need to purge your cache periodically. Look through your browser's menus for items named Cache, Temporary Internet files and so on. -->Upgrade your modem. -->Consult with your Internet service provider to ensure that your modem is configured correctly. -->Replace your telephone modem with a fast-access connection such as wave, ISDN, DSL, satellite, a cable modem. and now check your connection speed here Ip-Details.com even then your connection speed didnt get speed up then you better contact your service provider..

Re: Extremely slow Internet connection.

Hi,

I have fibre cable that gives 50mb, my speed is not just slow, it goes from 2mb/0.6mb to 11mb/2.5mb. In midgame im suddenly "running" in syrup, and if I get to be host in COD im so dead, cant see other players before im dead.

I really hate this and im getting pizzed.

Is there any1 else who has this problem, because according to Sony, its not the ps3.

Re: Extremely slow Internet connection.

Are you using Wifi or Ethernet? Also, if you run a speediest on the PC, does the speed indicate that variation?

Re: Extremely slow Internet connection.

1. It is not my Internet.

2. It is not my router.

3. It is not my settings.

4. It is the PS3.

All of my other equipments runs perfectly with maximum speed. My Xbox, my PC, my Mac. Heck even my phone has a steadier connection.

But the PS3 is failing. I have tried EVERYTHING, wired or wireless, different router settings, but nothing changes.

I have no idea what it could be, but it does get hot very quickly. I'm afraid that it once have overheated and melted some part of the wifi hardware, lol.

I have no problem with other equipments, just my ps3, but according to Sony all is fine.... BUT ITS NOT!!!!

I have not overheatet my ps3, but I have come to same conclusion, something is wrong with my ps3, but nothing can be done:smileysad:, Sony will not help, HMV where I bought it for 1.5 yrs ago wont help so I am stuck with a faulty machine. the manager in HMV  was rude and nasty, prolly because I disturbed him in his lunch nr 6 for the day!! LOL. Will never buy anything in a HMV store again, thats 4 sure.

I still have a little faith in Sony, but its dwingling fast!

Re: Extremely slow Internet connection.

Well, apparently no one knows what it is, so I have decided to toss the POS away and start playing on the Xbox instead..

I bought the slim version because the power supply broke on my other PS3 (the fat one). Now here, 3 years after, the slim version is broke. It is unbearable to play any multiplayer game like this.

Since there is no solution, how do you locked this thread?

Or maybe you guys should leave it on till someone actually figure it out?

Re: Extremely slow internet connection.

I'm having this same issue, but here's my spin.

I have a total of 4 PS3 consoles one old fat unit and three newer units purchases about a month ago.

I have all four units in my AV room; I can only get up to 7mb if wired and only up to 5mb if wireless. It doesn't matter if I have only one unit hooked up or all four at the same time. Each time I test the speed it varies tremendously from unit to unit. Some unit’s will only get 1mb via wifi while others seem to max out at around 5mb.

I have a 105mb download and 20mb upload connection and get almost full speed (around 95 down and 18 up) on all of my other equipment: phones, pads, laptops, Macs, ect.

I’ve hardwired our four xbox’s to these same lines and will get pretty consistent speeds of around 20mb down and 4.5mb up which leads me to believe it has to be something up with the PS3’s.

Re: Extremely slow internet connection.

God other people with the same issue!,I've recently gone from 1.5 mb/ 0.3mb to 34mb/1.7mb connection only to find that my ps3 connection speed test is anything from 4.5 to 12 mb download but the upload is usually correct,I first blamed it on the home plugs, then the fact my ps3 is the shiny fat one until my neighbour same type ps3 gives him 32mb,I need to swap with my neighbours ps3 to see what happens, will let you know how it goes.....
