Game installation taking forever !!

Hello, I just bought my PS3 yesterday. I subscribed to PSN Plus today and decided to download Rachet and Clank all 4 one (14gb). It took about 2 hours to download. But now I wanted to play so I started the installation. I waited 1 hour and looked and only 10% of the installation was done ... Meaning that it would take 10hours to install the game. Is this normal ?

Re: Game installation taking forever !!

Yes, it is very 'normal' on PS3. I dunno how you're supposed to install full games when installing demos takes at least 30 minutes. It frustrates me as well, to say the least. Sony doesn't give a darn about this, fanboys pretend it's not an issue. See how nobody responded?

Re: Game installation taking forever !!

That's not normal as far as i know and seems very slow. Have all installations been like this?

Re: Game installation taking forever !!

Try installing something else first, it should never take that long. At worst a game can take upto 30 minutes but will often inform you if it will.

It might be the case that redownloading the game will fix it for you.

Re: Game installation taking forever !!

I recently downloaded a 10Gb game, which took about 23 minutes to download, and about the same to install.
I have about 230Gb free on my HDD.

I provide this as reference.
