I'm not sure who rabbit is, but I'm called Rabid

I found the caps a bit disorientating but I think I got the jist of this from the other post.

One of your friends accounts has been hacked by another user during Call Of Duty Black Ops. This user managed to obtain all the account details and has now taken over the account? As you say this has happened a number of times where his account has been accessed by another user.

In this case the users whose account has been taken will need to contact support in order to resecure the account (particularly if there is billing info on there). When they do contact support they will need to advise that their account has been taken on numerous occasions and see if there is any way this can be made more secure for them going forward.

There is no way anyone would be able to access the account unless some of the details of the account could be obtained, be it the password or the security answers/questions easily. Therefore going forward your friend will need to be careful with the information on the account.

In the past was your friends account hacked while playing other titles, and how did he resecure it on those occasions? Also did he know the users in question at the time.

In the immediate future contacting support is the best course of action as he will need to answer security questions in order to resecure the account.

Let me know how he gets on with this,

srry for my manners am just angry why cant sony protect there users like microsoft can ? anyway am in school right now so ill find my friend online today so ill tell him to answer the questions and this is the 3rd time he has been hacked by just playing call of duty series i dont know why tho

any way he just made different accounts insteead of getting it resercued because he hates you guys ALOT and when i mean alot i mean he is going to trade in his ps3 for a 360 if this happens again and he didnt know the guy at all and his comment says now graviity revenge the person who hacked his account says jj has retired happy face and he some how got all of our infor he found out were we livied who our real names were and we dont have it on our profile either . and am scared for live to find out  that some crazy guy find out were i live and kill me just because he found out who i was useing my ip address

Hi tajboy123,

Rather than create multiple accounts, your friend should stick with one and ensure it is secure. If there are multiple accounts created it makes it more difficult to keep tabs on the information in each account. Also if he is using similiar information for each of these account e.g. addresses etc it makes the subsequent accounts more vulnerable.

If someone was using the ip address to obtain the login details, in theory this would mean that all other accounts regardless of the device would subject to the same from another user (so this wouldn't be isolated to the PS3 for instance).

If he believes he is getting this through Call of Duty specifically, has he contacted Activision at all for more info?

If he is being harassed by a specific user he can XMB grief report it, or block the user. He must be careful when using voice comms not to divulge any information regarding the account as well.
