Having Problems With My Blu-Ray Drive On Slim

It won't read my discs half of the time. And the other time It does then makes grinding noises. Then It spits out the disc then the disc goes back In again. I think the drive has had It by the looks of It. Its a launch slim and I think I have to get a new ps3 slim then.

Not the drive, the loading mechanism. Google or Youtube can explain the issue, but it boils down to the fact that the loading mechanisms gears/motor have slipped their position, which is why it 'grinds', ejects and reloads, it's trying to align the disc correctly with the laser. It can be DIY fixed at not cost, if you can be bothered.

Re: Having Problems With My Blu-Ray Drive On Slim

I know what your going through, the laser in mine went this morning after a few weeks of struggling to read games. I wouldn't mind so much but its my 3rd PS3 and i also have to lose all my copy-protected saves and re-download everything from the store that i had on it.
