Accepted Solution

I received an XMB message requesting PSN Account details?

[ Edited ]

I have received a request from eaonlineid asking me to give my e:mail address and my password and if I don't do this within the next 24 hours my account will be terminated.  Is this legitimate or is this someone trying to get my personal information?

Re: Technical Support

secondly, grief report them :smileyhappy:

Impersonating Sony employees is a HUGE no-no, not entirely sure on the penalty for trying to pretend to be an official EA rep.

Report the message using the XMB grief reporting tool.

This is not real and they will be punished for it, as long as you grief report it

Hi Kettle33,

As LordRoss advises these XMB messages that request personal information about your account are not real. There is no official channel that would request your information in this way. If you do encounter such a message you should use the grief reporting tool.

1) If you navigate to your Friends list on the main XMB.

2) Scroll through your friends and find the PSN ID who sent you the message.

3) Press Trangle on the PSN ID and the sub menu will appear.

4) Press the X button on the 'Message List' option.

5) The list of messages will appear, highlight the message and press triangle.

6) Scroll down the menu that pops up and the 'Grief Report' Option will be at the bottom.
