MESSAGE FOR A MODORATOR - UNABLE TO SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE.

I have phoned the PS3 helpdesk and they redirected me to send a post to a moderator on this forum.

I am unable to send private messages where as I was before - please would a moderator be kind enough to look into this matter for me to correct the situation.

It also seems that previous messages that I have received through the private network, when I go to reply to a message and enter somone's ID in the 'TO' field there is a red box with an x in it - I seem to be locked out of sending new messages or replying to old ones and wish to correct the situation please.

Please use plain text.

Try clearing your cache and seeing if that helps.

It may well be that you've been suspended from using Private Messaging, either for abusing or spamming it. I can't tell you that though :smileysad: Maybe RabidWalker or SFZ will be able to drop in and let you know.

You do have private messages turned on in the settings? (My Settings/Preferences/Private Messenger)

Their Private messaging is on. I just sent him a PM to test. If it were disabled I would get an error.

Hi Logicintuwisdom,

When you go to send a PM, the box at the top which is the 'to' one suggests the usernames in a dropdown (after putting in the initial letters of the name). You should be able to put the full name in however, and provided it is correct the message will go through. This is if you are using a browser via the PC.

I believe you have mentioned before using the PS3 browser for messaging etc, so I will raise this our side and update here when I find out more for you.

Thanks,

Rabid

Re: MESSAGE FOR A MODORATOR - UNABLE TO SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE.

I received your PM thks and I think I was able to reply with the reply I've repeated here below, but I don't seem to be able to send a new message. Maybe RabidWalker will be able to help as you suggested thanks.

I received your test message thankyou, and am trying to send this message back to you - however your ID does appear in the 'TO' field but before your ID there is a half of a red box with a white cross, your ID then another grey box with a white cross to the right of your ID - so I'm wondering if you'll receive the return message anyway.I'll incorporate it in again in my answer to your answer in my thread, perhaps you'll be kind enough to let me known how messages you actually received?

I got your message and replied, so it seems to be working. Some browsers don't work very well with the forum. The PS3 one is certainly not one of the better ones.

Thankyou for your prompt reply RabidWalker. I have managed to ascertain with strangeplaice's help that I am able to reply to other peoples PMs, but am unable to send out new ones.

Incidentally, I can click on your breaking-through-the-page blue twitter link, but there is also a field with a red box with a white cross in it slightly lower and to the right of the blue link, with nothing identifying what difference is between the two links around that field and red small red box. They both take me to your twitter page where I am able activate the various fields unlike the main twitter page through Google where I always have to go through the sub fogotton Username and password page. I only mention this in case it is related to the PM problem.

Thankyou for your assistance, but explaining things this way is very slow and tiring and I do wish for this one instance I could speak to you on the phone about it - just so there is no misunderstanding and we can get this problem sorted out as quick as possible!

You could try taking screenshots if you're using the PS3 browser, though you'll need to go on a PC and upload them

Re: MESSAGE FOR A MODORATOR - UNABLE TO SEND PRIVATE MESSAGE.

Thanks for all your help strangeplaice - so it seems I can send and receive via received messages only at the moment on PM.

I don't own a PC, well I do, but not very well at the moment.

It almost seems like the Playstation is an entity that can't stand alone without a PC. Please see further information which I am going to supply as a reply back to RabidWalker.
