Having earlier this morning followed the advice of my PS3 to download the latest update available for MGSHDC I now find that the game only loads to the selection screen. No music plays and the instruction manuals are now blank. Any attempt to load Snake Eater, Peace Walker or Sons Of Liberty results in either a good old screen freeze or a system crash. Whoop.

I'm not entirely sure if this update is useful because I prefer to be able to actually play the game. Ah, needless sarcasm. I apologise.

I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this because it is the second update the game has received and it's pants. I'd appreciate any advice or suggestions as to a remedy.

I am now playing MGS4 because I'm having withdrawl symtoms.

Try going to your Game Data Utility and deleting your Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Game Data. Then reload the game and run the updates again.

It may just be that the update didn't work properly, and doing it again may fix it

when I patched mine it refused to load past the selection screen and when I chose to start a game it simply went to a black screen.

I resolved this by signing OUT of the PSN before playing and everything loaded perfect.

It appears that signing out before starting some games will resolve loading issues. I have no idea why this is the case but it works :?
